Today we visited the White House and had adventures in the rain on our way to the Capitol Building where we learned about Congress and the history of the Capitol. We then went to the Pentagon and visited the 9-11 Memorial, while witnessing the skills of our soldier tour guides walking backwards with ease the whole way. Then we went to Mount Vernon and toured George Washington's home, the girls enjoyed the sites and history while the boys enjoyed the visiting girls at Mount Vernon. We ended our day visiting the Iwo Jima and Thomas Jefferson Memorials, and finally ended the day with the boys trying to have a wrestling match and the girls engaging in a pillow fight during the writing of this blog. We are all excited and looking forward to Gettysburg and New York tomorrow.
